  3. This book stopped me in Sanger, and said, you must read me - now - or maybe it was Irene, deep in mourning at her mother's house, here in Toledo! Yes, my Toledo - thank you - I am very sad to be half way through, and am hoping that somehow, you will both come here to speak, and write another book with Toledo as a character: warts and all. Thank you.

  4. I hope this message is not removed by the blog administrator. I just finished "Shine, Shine, Shine" and I was very disturbed by your casual, almost cavalier, treatment of Alopecia Universalis. This condition makes life unbearable in today's society and you never once referred to it in the proper terms or explained how it might have touched Sunny and her life.
Furthermore, several times you referred to the autistic Bubber as CRAZY. I have an autistic nephew and I can assure you that he is not crazy! Sorry, I did not like this book. I have a library of 7,000 books, I am 88 years old and I know what a good book means. This one is not worth keeping.
